Canvas Conversations with Designer Maura Nolan

We’re so excited to be hosting our current trunk show with designer Maura Nolan and yes, it’s all 20% OFF!
To celebrate, we sat down with Maura and asked her 20 fun questions about her designs, inspiration, and all things needlepoint. From how she gets her ideas to her favorite stitches and color combos, you’ll love getting to know the talent behind the canvases.
Scroll on to meet Maura and dive into our 20 Qs and don’t forget to shop the trunk show before it’s gone!
Favorite needlepoint project: My favorite needlepoint project so far has probably been my Pucci inspired tri-fold clutch. It was so fun to design this purse and bring it to life from start to finish! Another top project would be a small floral canvas that I picked up at a shop in Paris and had finished into an acrylic box. It sits on my bathroom vanity and holds my daily jewelry.
On your needlepoint Wishlist: I collect nutcrackers so my absolute dream needlepoint project is the Susan Roberts nutcracker tree skirt. It’s adorable! However, my stash and WIP pile are currently soo out of control that I can’t possibly let myself buy it until I get some projects under control. And as someone who loves to fly fish Ann Kaye’s Trout is also at the top of my wish list.
Dream stitching spot: On a boat in Door County, WI.
13 or 18 Mesh Canvas: 13 Mesh all day! It’s soo much more relaxing, which is the whole point for me.
