Canvas Conversations: Jinny McAuliffe of Stitch Style Needlepoint

Jinny Barney McAuliffe, owner of Stitch Style Needlepoint, has been stitching as long as she can remember. Her mom is an avid needlepointer, who always has a canvas in her purse. It was something she was always around growing up. Jinny's real love of needlepoint blossomed in high school and college. She studied Opera Performance at Boston University and loved to needlepoint backstage when she had downtime in rehearsals. In 2014 she started a blog about all things needlepoint called Stitch Style. She has now worked in the industry as a teacher and stitch guide author for the past decade but just launched her canvas company one year ago.

Be sure to follow with Jinny @StitchStyleBlog on Instagram for more of her stitching adventures!

I sat down with Jinny and asked her 20 questions to get to know her a little bit better:

Favorite needlepoint project. Oh this is a hard one! I'd have to say my all time favorite piece I've designed and stitched is probably my Twas the Night Before Christmas series! I can hardly wait to pull it out for the holidays this year!

On your needlepoint Wishlist . I'm dying to stitch Anne Fisher's Cape Cod Marsh! It's just exquisite- and there is so much potential for fun stitches.

SCT Designs Monogrammable wreath has been a long time wishlist project for me too!

Dream stitching spot. Curled up with a blanket in a cozy cabin in Breckenridge!

13 or 18 Mesh Canvas. 18 mesh all the way.

Beach or Mountains. Mountains! My husband and I lived in Colorado Springs for three years, and I had no idea how much we'd love it until we moved there!

Favorite flower. Peonies! I carried them in my wedding bouquet and I've always loved them. I'm an avid gardener and have a peony garden in our new home in Virginia.

Guilty pleasure. An extra long, extra hot shower

On your nightstand. A copy of The Palace Papers, Laneige Vanilla Lip Mask and a pair of gingher embroidery scissors
