Canvas Conversations: Catherine Durette

Main Line, Pennsylvania blogger Catherine Durette and Greystone not only share a love for classic design (especially the ever-timeless blue and white color combination!), but most importantly we share the love of needlepointing! We enjoy following Catherine's needlepointing journey to see the way she has used her skills to create precious keepsakes for her two little girls like the "Lottie" heart pillow shown above.

We sat down with Catherine and asked her 20 questions:

Favorite needlepoint project I stitched a sweet little duck for my first daughter while I was pregnant. I thought it would be the perfect keepsake for her nursery and it was a fun way to channel all my excited energy!

On your needlepoint Wishlist I have my eye on the pink “hugs & kisses” full kit that you offer. Perfect for my daughters'rooms, or our playroom. My first thought is always to finish as a pillow and you just nailed the fabric selection with the classic sister parish print that you offer. I also want to stitch your cute Telluride hat as an ornament for my Christmas tree… my husband and I spent our honeymoon there!

Dream stitching spot Nantucket! I learned to stitch in my 20’s on island. It would be so fun to return with my family in tow and steal a few moments to myself to stitch back where it all began for me.

Last book you read and liked Oh my- I am knee deep in children at the moment so most of my reading is aloud to them. A current favorite children's book is by Eva Chen “A Is For Awesome: 23 Iconic Women Who Changed The World”

Currently watching I have watched Ozark in its entirety with my husband. Dark, yet addictive!

If there were more hours in the day I would Needlepoint, workout, and blog consistently

Favorite places to shop  I think the curation of goods at Newport Lamp & Shade Company is flawless. I like to pop into the shop when I’m in Rhode Island but I also follow their instagram account and can place orders online.
