Needlepoint for Mom
Mother’s Day is a great time to pause and reflect on all of the incredible things – big and small – that mothers do for their families. For me being a mother has been the most rewarding and challenging job, especially after this past year - can we say superheroes!?
Mother’s Day is also a time to reflect on your own self-care needs and how to prioritize the people and things in our lives that bring joy. For me, self-care is carving out small pockets of time every single day to do something creative or mindless like needlepointing or reading a good book. This ensures a little bit of peace and calm in the chaos of daily schedules – something that I require in order to be the best possible version of myself.
Crafts like needlepoint, knitting and sewing are proven to be a great way to reduce stress. According to research from Harvard Medical School’s Mind and Body Institute, knitting can lower the heart rate by an average of 11 beats per minute and leads to lower blood pressure. We could all use a little more relaxation and a little less stress!
Is there a mom in your life who needs some self-care? Give the gift of needlepoint. Check out our beginner kits and free Beginner How To Guide. All orders over $100 will receive a free small yellow project bag.
Happy Mother’s Day to all!
